SIMPLE & STRESS-FREE
Most extractions and minor oral surgery procedures are completed in a single visit.
A quick review of your symptoms and health history, plus a digital X-ray to see exactly what's going on beneath the surface.
We'll explain whether you need a simple extraction, a surgical extraction, or another procedure, and answer every question before we begin.
Using local anesthesia (with sedation options available for anxious or complex cases), most extractions and minor oral surgery take about 20–60 minutes.
You'll leave with written aftercare instructions, and our team is a phone call away if you have questions while you heal.
HOW WE CAN HELP
For teeth that are too decayed, damaged, or loose to save, we perform gentle, in-office extractions using local anesthesia.
When a tooth hasn't fully emerged, is broken below the gumline, or has curved or fused roots, a surgical extraction, a small incision to access the tooth, may be needed. We handle these in-house.
Wisdom teeth that come in sideways, partially emerge, or crowd neighboring teeth can cause pain, swelling, and infection. We evaluate and remove impacted wisdom teeth before they cause bigger problems.
After an extraction or bone loss, grafting helps preserve your jaw's structure, especially important if you're planning to get a dental implant.
We reshape and prepare the jaw and gum tissue so dentures or other restorations fit comfortably and securely.
For patients who need a full implant, we coordinate care with trusted specialist partners so your treatment plan is seamless from extraction to final restoration.

Just wanted to do a shout out to Dual Arc Dental! I stuck with them after the previous owners sold through and happy I did. They have proven they are caring and understanding whether my needs have been small or very patient with me not only during my visits but with any queries in regards to the insurance.

KNOW THE SIGNS
Common reasons patients need a tooth extraction or oral surgery include:
When too little healthy tooth remains to support a filling or crown.
Teeth that are trapped under the gum or bone and can't erupt normally.
When bone loss around a tooth can no longer support it.
A cracked, fractured, or knocked-loose tooth from an injury.
When infection has spread beyond what a root canal can resolve.
Removing a tooth to create space for alignment treatment.
Not sure which applies to you? A quick consultation and X-ray is the fastest way to find out, and in many cases, we can treat you the same day.

With modern local anesthesia, the extraction itself shouldn't hurt, you may feel some pressure. Mild soreness afterward is normal and typically managed with over-the-counter pain relievers.
A simple extraction removes a tooth that's fully visible above the gumline. A surgical extraction is needed when a tooth is impacted, broken at the gumline, or has roots that make it harder to remove, this may involve a small incision. Our doctors will let you know which applies to you after an exam.
No. For most extractions, including many wisdom teeth cases, Dr. Patel and Dr. Mehta can treat you directly in our Schertz office, no outside referral needed.
Costs vary depending on whether it's a simple or surgical extraction, and whether sedation is needed. We accept most PPO insurance plans and offer CareCredit, Cherry Financing, and our in-office Dual Arc Smiles membership plan for patients without insurance. We're happy to give you a clear cost estimate at your consultation, before any treatment begins.
If you choose sedation beyond local anesthesia, yes, you'll need a ride home. If you only receive local anesthesia, you can typically drive yourself.
Stick to soft foods and liquids for the first 24 hours, think yogurt, mashed potatoes, and smoothies, and avoid using a straw, which can disturb healing.
Simple extractions typically heal within a few days. Surgical extractions, including wisdom teeth removal, may take up to a week or more. We'll give you personalized aftercare instructions based on your procedure.
