Chipped, cracked, or gapped tooth? Most bonding repairs are done the same day you call.
A chipped or cracked tooth usually isn't a true dental emergency, but dentists agree it shouldn't sit untreated either. A rough edge can cut your cheek or tongue, and an exposed edge is more prone to further damage or decay the longer it's left alone.
Call our Schertz office and describe what happened. We keep same-week openings specifically for quick cosmetic repairs like this, and many single-tooth chips can be smoothed, filled, and polished in one visit.
Dental bonding uses a tooth-colored composite resin, applied and sculpted directly onto your tooth, to repair chips, close small gaps, or cover discoloration. Dr. Viral Patel, DDS and Dr. Vaidehi Mehta, DDS shape and shade every repair by hand at our Schertz office, no lab and no waiting on a shipment.

ONE VISIT, START TO FINISH
Most single-tooth bonding repairs take about 30 to 60 minutes and can be completed during one appointment.
We select a composite resin shade that blends with your natural tooth color before any work begins.
The tooth surface is lightly roughened and a bonding liquid applied so the resin adheres securely. No drilling or numbing is needed for most cosmetic repairs.
The composite is applied, shaped by hand to match your tooth's natural contour, and hardened with a curing light.
We trim and polish the bonded area so it blends seamlessly and feels smooth against your bite, cheek, and tongue.

Thought I would post since it’s hard to find a great dentist office all around. We love Dual Arc Dental and would highly recommend them! Office is an excellent hygienist through and gentle. Ryan is the front desk person, everything running smoothly with scheduling, payments, and insurance.

Just wanted to do a shout out to Dual Arc Dental! I stuck with them after the previous owners sold through and happy I did. They have proven they are caring and understanding whether my needs have been small or very patient with me not only during my visits but with any queries in regards to the insurance.

GOOD TO KNOW
Dental bonding is a conservative option for many small cosmetic concerns. It may be a good fit for:
Bonding can rebuild a small chip or minor crack and restore a smoother, more natural-looking tooth shape.
Composite resin can be carefully shaped to close small spaces between front teeth without more extensive treatment.
Bonding can cover localized discoloration that whitening didn't fully resolve.
A tooth that's slightly shorter or uneven next to its neighbors can often be reshaped with composite bonding.
If the tooth has significant decay, a large fracture, or takes heavy biting force, bonding may not hold up. We'll tell you plainly at your visit if a crown or veneer is the safer choice instead.
IF BONDING ISN'T ENOUGH
Bonding is often the fastest and most affordable way to correct a small chip, gap, or area of discoloration. Veneers and crowns may be better choices when greater durability or more extensive treatment is needed.

Dental Bonding
RecommendedConservative · Fast · Affordable
Veneers or Crowns
More durable · Broader coverage · Lab-fabricated
Best for
Small chips, gaps, uneven edges, or localized discoloration
Larger cosmetic changes or teeth with significant structural damage
Treatment Time
Usually completed in one visit
May require multiple visits depending on treatment
Tooth Preparation
Minimal tooth alteration for most cosmetic repairs
Typically requires more tooth preparation
Durability
Typically lasts 5 to 10 years with proper care
Porcelain restorations are generally more durable and stain-resistant
Cost
Typically $150 to $600 per tooth
Usually costs more because of materials and laboratory fabrication
If you're looking to transform several teeth at once with a more durable, stain-resistant result, porcelain veneers may be the better fit. If a tooth is significantly broken down or structurally weak, a crown is generally the more durable choice. We'll recommend the option that best fits the condition of your tooth.

Often, yes. We keep same-week openings for quick cosmetic repairs, and most single-tooth bonding is finished in one visit once you're in the chair.
Not usually, but it shouldn't wait too long either. A rough edge can irritate your cheek or tongue, and an exposed edge is more prone to further damage the longer it's left untreated.
Most single-tooth bonding runs $150 to $600, depending on the size and complexity of the repair. We'll confirm your exact cost at your visit before any work begins.
Most bonding doesn't require anesthesia at all. If we're bonding over a filling or decay, we'll numb the area first.
With normal care, bonding typically lasts 5 to 10 years before it needs touch-up or replacement.
Yes. We hand-select and shade the composite resin chairside to blend with your surrounding teeth.
Coverage depends on whether the bonding is cosmetic or restorative, such as replacing a filling. We accept CareCredit and Cherry Financing either way.
No. Bonding is more conservative but less durable than porcelain. It's a great fit for small cosmetic fixes; larger or structural repairs are usually better served by a veneer or crown.
